Plain English. No 40-page download. We’ll tell you exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and who else touches it, because that’s how we’d want it explained to us.

Who We Are

BeckettSystems is the trade name of 1001575206 Ontario Inc., an Ontario corporation based in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, founded by Austin Beckett. We build and run lead, review, and messaging systems for Canadian contractors. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “BeckettSystems” all refer to 1001575206 Ontario Inc. You can reach us anytime at austin@beckettsystems.ca or +1 613-777-6146. This policy covers anything you do on beckettsystems.ca, any form you fill out with us, and any account you have with our service.

What We Collect

We try to collect as little as we can get away with. Here's what we actually take in, broken down by who you are to us:

If you’re a site visitor or lead

When you fill out a contact form, book a demo, or email us, we collect what you give us: typically your name, business name, email, phone number, and whatever you write in the message. Our website also keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps) so we can keep the site running and spot abuse.

If you’re a contractor client

Once you sign up, we collect account details (your business info, login credentials, and billing details handled by Stripe), plus any data you push into the system: your customer list, lead intake, message history, review activity, and the like. Some of that data describes your customers, not you, and we treat that data as yours, not ours. See the processor section below.

If we contacted you cold

Some of our outreach goes to contractors we haven't talked to yet. In those cases we’ve sourced your business name and a public business contact (email or phone) from public directories or your own website. We're reaching you in a B2B context about something we genuinely think is relevant to your trade. Every message we send identifies us, tells you why we're reaching out, and gives you a one-tap way to opt out. More on that in the CASL section.

How We Use It

We use what we collect to:

  • Reply to your inquiry and follow up about a demo or a question.
  • Deliver the service you signed up for: building your site, running your review funnel, sending text-backs, operating your CRM.
  • Send you marketing communications about our services where we have your consent or a permitted business relationship under CASL.
  • Keep the system secure, prevent abuse, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
  • Improve the service. Figure out what's working, what's confusing, and what to build next.

We don't sell your personal information. We don't rent it. We don't share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Where Your Data Lives

Running the system means trusting a small set of vendors. These are the companies that touch your data and what they do:

  • GoHighLevel (HighLevel Inc., USA).The CRM that powers email, SMS, automation, lead routing, and reporting for both our own outreach and our contractor clients' systems.
  • Twilio (USA). SMS delivery (used by GoHighLevel under the hood).
  • Stripe (USA).Payment processing for contractor subscriptions. We don't store your card details on our servers; Stripe does.
  • Calendly (USA). Demo booking when you pick a time on our calendar.
  • Hosting providers. Our site and contractor sites run on standard cloud infrastructure that keeps server logs as part of normal operation.
  • Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. We may add these to understand how visitors use the site and to measure marketing performance. When we enable them, cookies will be set and this section will reflect that.

Most of these vendors are in the United States, which means personal information may be transferred outside Canada and stored there. While the data is in another country, that country's laws may apply, including legal access requests by foreign authorities. By using the service, you understand this will happen. If you have a question about a specific vendor, email us and we'll tell you exactly what they handle.

CASL, Consent, And Unsubscribing

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) governs commercial electronic messages we send to you. We take it seriously because we’d rather earn your attention than buy it cheap. Practically, that means:

  • Every email we send identifies BeckettSystems, gives you a one-click unsubscribe link, and includes a way to contact us.
  • Every SMS we send tells you who it's from and lets you reply STOP to opt out.
  • When you opt out, we honour it. Typically immediately, and in any case within 10 business days as CASL requires.
  • We keep a suppression list so opted-out contacts stay opted out across our systems.
  • When we reach out cold, we rely on B2B context and clearly identified business contact information that's been conspicuously published. If we got the address wrong or you'd rather we didn't reach out, tell us and you're off the list.

Cookies

Today the site uses essential cookies only: the ones needed to make the site work and to keep it secure. If we add analytics or advertising tools (like Google Analytics or Meta Pixel), they'll set their own cookies and we'll update this section so it’s honest about what’s actually running. You can always block cookies in your browser; the site will still work for the most part if you do.

How Long We Keep It

We keep data only as long as we have a reason to. If you emailed us once and never converted, we keep that exchange for a reasonable window in case you come back, then we clear it out. If you're an active contractor client, we keep your account data for as long as you're a customer plus a reasonable period after cancellation for billing, tax, and legal reasons. Once that window passes, we delete or anonymize what we have.

Your Rights

Under Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct anything that's wrong or out of date.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time (this won't affect a paid service you're actively using).
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal and contractual obligations we have to keep some of it.
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we've mishandled your data.

To exercise any of these, just email austin@beckettsystems.ca. We'll respond within 30 days.

When We Run Your System For You

If you're a contractor client, your customers' data lives inside the GoHighLevel account we operate on your behalf. In that arrangement, you're the data controller for your customers' information. It's your business relationship and your obligation to those customers. BeckettSystems is the processor: we handle the data on your instructions and within the bounds of these terms. You stay responsible for getting consent from your own customers before we send messages on your behalf, and for what those messages say. A Data Processing Addendum is available on request. Just ask.

Kids

The service is built for businesses. It's not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes

We'll update this page when something material changes about how we handle data: a new vendor, a new tool, a shift in practice. The effective date at the top will move whenever we do. If a change is significant, we'll do our best to give you a heads-up before it takes effect.

Talk To Us

Privacy questions, data requests, complaints, things that aren't clear in this policy. Send any of it to austin@beckettsystems.ca. A real person reads it. You can also pick up the phone: +1 613-777-6146. See our Terms of Service for the rules of using the service itself.

Ready When You Are

30 minutes. Real answers. No pitch deck.

We'll show you the system running on a live account, answer your questions, and be honest about whether it's a fit. If it's not, we'll tell you.
